Robert Alan Gross (born Bridgeport, Connecticut) is an American historian, and James L. and Shirley A. Draper Professor of Early American History at the University of Connecticut.〔http://www.history.uconn.edu/people/gross.php〕
==Life==
Gross graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1966, and from Columbia University with an M.A. in 1968 and a Ph.D. in 1976. He taught at Amherst College from 1976–88, the University of Sussex from 1981–83 and the College of William and Mary from 1988-2003.
He has written on such themes as multiculturalism and transnationalism in American thought and life.〔http://www.oah.org/activities/lectureship/2009/lecturer.php?id=405〕
